“unsent”
But it was there right in front of me the truth that you’re gone. Now I believe I have gotten over you. Now it’s been so long since you left and now I guess it’s safe for me to say that I’m used to living without you. Now, that you’re gone. But still I don’t know if I should be glad because you’re not going to make me feel that pain again, I will never again feel beaten and betrayed or feel sad for I will never again hear you whisper in my ear, I will never again feel you in my arms and there will be no more looking into your eyes.

Gugmang gi-atay
I heard this song on the radio a few days ago and I have been searching for its lyrics. It’s a nice song in my native tongue (bisaya). Anyways, for those who can understand here is the lyrics, I’m not sure if it’s accurate though. For the tabs, visit the site provided below.

kung ikaw masayud
paminawon mo
kay kung pananglit

mga panun-paw pasalig ko
kung ugaling kalit kang mubiya
di ko kapugngan akong(?) mga luha
kay ikaw akong himaya

oh lahh. aahhhh

ug sa kalit lng nahanaw
ang bidlisiw sa adlaw
CHORUS
oh kahayag sa imong panagway
nga naulipon sa gugmang giatay
inday paminawa kabos kong gugma
nga kanimo akong igasa
dili ko man mahatag ang tanang bahandi
'ning kalibutan apan inday unya intawon
hinaot na naulipon sa gugmang giatay
ohhhh ....
Nuestra Señora de Regla
Happy fiesta, Nuestra Señora de Regla, Lapu-lapu ( Opon or shall I call it Mactan) city parish. The food, the people and of course the drinks were great, and now time to finish of with the leftovers. But before that, time to dig in some history so that we will have a little background of our beloved patron saint…
The Nuestra Señora de Regla, the image of the blessed Virgin in black holding a black Sto. Niño in her arms, is the patron saint of Opon. The two-and-half-feet high icon has a black face with curly, black hair flowing down her shoulders. The Lady is enshrined in the sacristy of the Virgin of the Rule church which was built by the
The original icon of the Black Virgin is in the
The Black Virgin’s fame was already widespread in Europe when Fr. Francisco Avalle, a Spanish friar during the Spanish rule in the country, showed her picture to the natives of Opon. And soon enough, Opon natives began to tell their own tale of the Virgin’s healing and miracles. And so, from one generation to another, tales of the miracles of the Black Virgin have increased. The native’s faith in the Lady grew all the more especially when a drought (sparing only Opon) visited the other islands, and when a huge swarm of insects refrained from attacking their crops when a novena was said to her. These events led the natives of Opon to make an icon of the Virgin, like the original one enshrined in the church of Chipiona.

Although there was heavy traffic, the effort was worth the fun.

another new blog
hmmmm... I wonder how many blogs are made in a single day, probably thousands or even millions. Well, might as well join in.
First and foremost, I believe I have to introduce myself; I’m Meckay, 23 years old. I’m not really on to internet related stuff but I got a few friends addicted to the net. I believe I have a lot to say about life since at my age I have already experienced a lot, I’m from a broken family, a relationship that didn’t work, living in a 3rd world country but miserable as it is, life goes on and that’s just the way it is…we just have to bring the best out of it.
Right now I’m trying to be happy with my new moronic boyfriend. I enjoy his company although sometimes or shall I say often times I lose my temper with his I don’t know, idiotic personality. I love to read and compose (I think I will be publishing my compositions here if I’d get proper hmmm… motivation so to speak???), sing (privately of course) and dance (remembers high days, sigh)...
I’m the kind of person that values friendship and I hope I could meet new friends around the world through this blog and learn from them new stuff from different cultures and languages, history and all.
Why surlyangel? Hmmmm… it was suppose to be “sadangel” or “thesadangel” since that’s what my boyfriend told me what I am, a sad angel. But I can’t register it; the site says: Sorry, this blog address is not available. It took me a while to think a name for my blog but I just thought I might as well use my email address which I have been using for years already, name problem solved.
What else? I’m currently jobless, so hard to look for a job these days.. sigh
I'd like to welcome you all to my small spot in the internet.
My life, my blog, our world… Welcome to surlyangel.blogspot.com
